The Academy for the Art of Metal Shaping Inc.

Specializing in perservations of the Art of Coachbuilding and Panelshaping
and integrating the Art with modern tools and techology.

AAMS strives to preserve the Art of Coachbuilding through hands on education and foster strategic relationships between artists, fabricators, designers and Industry. For many decades the Art of Coachbuilding has been shrouded in secrecy and the unfortunate outcome is the dwindling supply of Coachbuilders and Panels shapers capable of passing the Art on to the next generation.

“I was walking through the paddock during the vintage races at the Road America this past summer, one of the finest and most historical racetracks in the world, and my 17 years old son asked “Where are all the old Cobras and Ferraris? We used to see so many of them!” The reality hit me, and I realized that the time was upon us where the owners of these great historic vehicles had succumbed to fear of damage. The scarcity of qualified panelshapers combined with the ever increasing value of the cars has led owners to stop using their cars as intended. I knew that it was time for me to do my part in passing on the Art. ”
